Another Life Change

Some time ago we let you all know that Daniel would be going into business with a really good friend of his and that it would enable us to come back to Christiansburg and live in our home there that we remodeled. Up until about 3 weeks ago that was still the plan and we were very eagerly anticipating the time when everything would transpire with that plan. It appears that God now has other plans for our family. A few weeks ago a well respected Christian business man in Bluefield (Daniels hometown) approached Daniels grandfather and said he had heard about Daniel getting his masters at VT and learned that he was working in construction. He said he was getting older and was wanting a respectable young man to come and work with him and slowly over the next few years sell his prosperous construction business to him so that he could retire. Daniels grandfather called and relayed this message to us and also gave Daniel his phone number. Daniel decided not to call since he felt he had already committed himself to his friend.
A week or so later Daniels parents ran into this mans son in law and and he told them that his father in law was hoping that Daniel would call. Daniels parents encouraged him to call so a week or so later he did and they agreed to get together and talk since we were already coming in for Isaacs birthday in mid May. The man gave Daniel a great offer and a plan to slowly buyout his business over the next few years. While the company mainly only builds commercial building such as banks and doctors offices all of the jobs they take are within a 30 mile radius of the company office. They work only 8 hrs per day and Daniel would be home with us for supper every evening (A huge plus considering the hours most scheduling engineers have to put in).
This offer put Daniel in a very hard place. He prayed much about whether or not he could even accept this offer after already making plans with his friend. His friend is a very Godly man whom he thinks the world of. After seeking much prayer and advice he decided that he must do what he felt was better for his family and go back to his hometown where he would have less traveling, more time with us, and more help with our rapidly growing family. It upset Daniel very much to have to tell his friend that he could not go into business with him. His friend being the Godly man that he is though was very understanding and hopefully he and Daniel will still work together some in the future on various projects. As for me, How do I feel about all of this? I have mixed feelings. I loved Christiansburg, I loved my house there and most of all, my friends. I was so excited about going back there to live. However, I am also relieved that He won't have to do any traveling. All 3 of our children are currently 3 and under and no one is completely potty trained, I feel I would have really struggled at home alone during the times he would have to go visit a project he was scheduling. I have also always wanted the support of grandparents who live close by to help me raise the children and be a part of their lives. This life change is bittersweet for me. You can be praying for us that this move will be blessed and that the Lord would provide the right house for us. God has already provided me with a close friend in Bluefield and I am so very thankful! I am still stressed about our housing situation since Daniel must start to work in July but I know that God will take care of that too.
I had better close since I am flying into Atlanta early in the morning with Grace. We had a really fun day with our family at the beach today. Here are a few pictures. Our children love the beach and so do we!!! Grace even did well. She napped and nursed and did everything she would normally do out on the beach.
