What my God has done...

"For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my
petition which I asked of Him." 1 Samuel 1:27
Yes, this verse means what you think it does. This time 3 months ago I was in the depths of despair after suffering a devastating 2nd miscarriage on Christmas Day. I wondered if I would ever give birth to another child. Today I am thrilled to announce that God has heard our prayers and decided to make us a family of 6! We saw precious baby Rich today for the first time with a very strong heartbeat at almost 8 weeks gestation. We will meet this little blessing sometime around November 6th. Please keep us in your prayers these next few weeks as my HCG levels are very high and causing extreme nausea/vomiting which is a wonderful sign as far the health/strength of this pregnancy! Just pray that God will give us the grace to make it through the next few weeks until I get to feeling well. It is especially tough for Daniel trying to pick up the slack when I am so sick. In spite of the sickness though I cannot begin to describe the joy and excitement we feel over this child! After losing 2 it is like having our first child all over again! I also wanted to mention that we have found what is believed to have caused the miscarriage's and the problem was easily fixable. I will write more on that later. God is so good! Please join our family in praying for this precious baby who is looking forward to meeting you all this Fall:-)
A very happy pregnant Mommy!

6 Secrets

Ok, I have been tagged by Paola over at Paola and Josh's journal to tell 6 secrets about myself. I don't know if I can think of 6 but here goes...

1. I used to read a very thick book in one day before I met Daniel and did it often. I especially liked biographies of my hero's like Susanna Wesley and novels following United States history.

2. I spend a lot of time reading medical journals and medical research and know a lot terms that sound like foreign language.

3. I analyze/rationalize too much and have to quote Proverbs 3:5 often.

4. Daniel is the only man I have ever kissed or liked in a romantic way

5. Unlike most women I love maternity clothes, they are so comfortable!

6. I like living in SW Virginia and never want to move.

Trip to Massanutten

We were thrilled to be able to go to Massanutten for free this past week. We went a few weeks ago and sat through a sales pitch for their timeshares just to get a free trip. It was great because they even paid for our water park tickets and gas to get there! The kids did great and we all had a wonderful time.

Meet The Snowman Rich Family

Notice that Sissy has pig tails and since Daddy sculpted his own snowman he decided to give himself a buff chest and a six pack:-). He tried his best to make me look pregnant since we are both hoping for that soon. We were so blessed to get more than 6 inches of snow today! I'm sorry these pictures are a little dark. I probably shouldn't have waited so late to start taking pictures.
Isaac has really grown up alot lately, He diligently made 2 large snowballs like this without help. It was so precious watching him work so hard to push these around. They became the bottoms of the Mommy and Daddy snowmen.

The kids with their replica snowmen!
I don't know what it is about boys and throwing snowballs. As you can see it is not just little boys who enjoy throwing snowballs:-)

Mommy with her precious snowbabies

Sissy loved being pulled by her big Brother. He had a hard time pulling her in the yard as pictured but pulled her effortlessly up and down our street! I am so thankful my children are growing up in a place where they can enjoy playing in the snow. That was something I usually missed out on growing up in GA:-)
