Recipe of the Month ~ Protein Bars
I know I have not faithfully published a recipe every month on here like I intended but here is one for September! Several people on Facebook saw a status update about me making protein bars and wanted the recipe. I actually got the recipe I use from my sister, Lauren Bailey. She got the recipe from a co-worker several years ago when she worked in a beauty salon.
2 c. chocolate whey protein powder
1 jar natural crunchy peanut butter
2 c. old fashioned oats
2 c. honey (I sometimes use less)
Melt peanut butter and honey together in microwave for 1 minute. Stir well and then add in the oats and protein. Mix thoroughly and press into a glass 9 x 13- inch dish. Cover and chill in refrigerator for several hours and then cut into bars. Keep stored in refrigerator with lid on. These will keep a long time.
