Isaac and James GOT BAPTIZED!!!

I could not be more thrilled to announce that Isaac and James were baptized on Sunday, August 28th at our annual church picnic. That was by far my most happy moment as a parent! They were both saved on March 17, 2011. The following is what I wrote in my journal the next day.

"Isaac (age 6) and James (age 5) both got saved during family devotions last night. I could not be more pleased! I have been reading the book "Missionary Stories with the Millers" to the kids for several weeks now and the stories seemed to have a profound impact on them, especially Isaac, since he is a little older. After reading a story in there about Hudson Taylor, the boys began asking questions and Daniel answered as best he could. Both boys made the decision to become a new creation and prayed.

Thank you Jesus! I feel that great things are happening in our family! Lindsay"

I also want to say that the boys decision to accept Christ is not because of anything we did. We did not prod them or ask them if they wanted to pray the sinners prayer. I do not believe in prodding young children to pray the sinners prayer before their hearts are truly hungry and ready. I thought they might be older before this happened. My parents did a great job of waiting on the Lord for my salvation. Though I went to church every Sunday and sat through all of my mothers homeschool bible lessons, I was not saved until I was 9 years old and I knew it was REAL! We were very careful to let the boys bring up salvation when they were ready. The fruit we have seen in their lives since March has given us confirmation that it was  REAL for them as well. I would like to encourage all the parents of young children out there to pray and wait on the Lord to get a hold of your children's hearts. No matter how much we desire salvation for our kids, It is between them and God. He is their real Father and we are merely in their lives for a short time to help guide them to HIM.

I know I will need to be reminded of this with our other children as well which is why I am writing it down:-).

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
