Christmas at the Rich Home ~ 2011

As you can imagine. Christmas is super FUN, LOUD and EXCITING when you have 4 kids to share it with. This Christmas was no exception! We treasured every moment of it...
Bubba felt like being shirtless most of the day on
Christmas so we let him. pictures and all hehe!

It was so fun to give James the pirate costume he had
been wanting since last summer!

The girls got a wooden table for their dolls. Mercy
decided to be one of the dolls:-)

I made the homemade cinnamon rolls that I make every Christmas,
Daniel and the kids look so forward to them!

This is what your in for when you decide to have 2 boys 15 months apart!

Our Christmas Morning Breakfast complete with Cinnamon rolls,
Sausage/Egg casserole, clementines, sparkling grape juice for
Daniel and of course Eggnog for the kids and myself!

My sweetie with his mouth watering just dying to bite into a
cinnamon roll while I take his picture:-)

Daddy helping the boys build the lego sets he gave them for Christmas
These were his when he was a boy and it was special for him
to give them to the boys and help them build them.

The girls and I had fun dressing their dolls and
then using the doll table to play with Grace's polly pocket swimming
pool while Mercy had her nap.

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Matthew 1:22-24

My brother Josh and sister Paola welcomed their daughter, Julia Hope Bradfield into the world on Sunday, December 11th at 6:20pm. She weighed 6 lbs. 11oz and measured 19 1/2 inches long. It is just driving me bonkers that I have not seen her yet! Daniel and I can hardly wait to hold our new little niece Julia. Its actually been awhile since we have held a newborn! Congratulations Josh and Paola!

Its Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas at the Rich Home...

We spent a large portion of Saturday morning having our Christmas pictures taken and then spent the afternoon out shopping for our Christmas tree, We found a frasier fir just like we wanted. Daniel did the lights this year and everyone helped decorate. It was fun! The kids were all so into it this year, especially Mercy.  She cracked us up being so serious and intent while hanging each ornament. With the tree up and the house all decorated. I felt compelled to get a jump start on our Christmas goody making. Yesterday the kids and I drove to Roanoke early in the morning to get our supplies at Sam's. After we came home, we did a little school and then Kimmy and her boys came over and we had a great time visiting around the Christmas tree! After the kids came home from swim practice last night we made "Lemon Chess Bars" and today we made "Chocolate Peppermint Cookies". The kids just love making Christmas goodies. I let each member of my family have one goody out of what we make and then we freeze the rest for Christmas parties, gatherings and gifts. Ahhh, There is nothing more fun than having lots of  kids to celebrate Christmas with! Did I mention how much fun it is to shop for their Christmas gifts? We are so blessed to have them and thank God for the joy they bring.

Have a "Mercy Christmas!"

Mercy so intently hanging her
James and Grace thoroughly enjoyed licking the beaters after we made
Chocolate Peppermint Cookies.

The finished product... Chocolate Peppermint
Cookies! Forgot to get a picture of the
Lemon Chess Bars before we froze them.
