2012 Christmas Family Photo Shoot

Once a year we make the huge effort to get family pictures made. We always dread this day! It is so hard to get everyone coordinated and ready but later we are always glad we made the effort. The kids were obedient and did great for the shoot, Praise God! We always do our family photos this time of year so that we can also get a decent photo to use for a Christmas card.  It's amazing to see how much our family changes in just one year!

This one ended up being our Christmas card photo this year.

Roanoke Christmas Parade

We decided to take our kids to downtown Roanoke to watch the Christmas parade this year. It was super cold but they got good curbside seats where they could see really well and it was very entertaining for them.

I Love this picture of Mercy sitting on
her Daddy's shoulders:-).
Miss Susanna stayed warm and snug!

Sunday before Christmas!

One of the first pics of all 3 of my girls! I love them
sooo much!

Boys and girls dressed in their Christmas best for church!

My mom made Susanna a stocking to match the rest of ours and I
was so excited to get it in the mail and add it to our mantle!

December Fun!

Grace has been blessed to get to go back to Cedarwood Pre-school temporarily while one of the other students is on a 3 month mission trip to Africa with his parents. They can take children up to age 6 and since she is only 5 it all worked out! This has been a huge blessing since I have so much on my plate right now with Susanna being so new. A couple of weeks ago we got to watch Grace and Mercy participate in the school Christmas Play. Grace was an angel and Mercy was a sheep. They were adorable!

Aunt Margaret came home from a 5 month mission trip to Hawaii and Cambodia. Here she is meeting her niece Susanna for the first time. We are so happy that she is back for a few months before going back!

Daniel took me out on a date for my 29th birthday and we had Kensie and her younger siblings Caleb and Cristen who are good friends of Isaac and James to come and here while we were gone. Isaac apparently had fun taking silly pictures with my camera!

Susanna's Newborn Shoot

Our friend Laura Swift from our church came over when Susanna was 1 week old to take some newborn photos of her. Here are a few of my favorites. I love that Susanna was still so fresh and new and still had her cord! Laura used the word LOVE in many of the photo's because she said in praying for us the Lord told her that Susanna was God's love letter to me. I couldn't agree more!

Everyone knows I love bows! I just had to put one on her for her
her photo session. God is so good to give me babies with lots of hair
so I can enjoy putting bows on them!
That is Nana's fur purse in the picture.
I love this! Her feet are the V :-)

Susanna wrapped in the Afghan I made for her during the pregnancy,
Thank goodness I didn't put any blue in it:-).
Susanna in our special cradle that Daniels PawPaw Rich made
for him when he was a baby.

Nana was staying with us and got to be in a couple of pictures. I think
this one is so good!
I love this photo of my 5 babies!

Prayer Request

Please join us in praying for this special family in our church. Brandon has battled cancer over the years yet we have seen the Lord do miracle after miracle for him! Believing the same as they face this journey yet again. Click the link below to read more.

Christmas has arrived at the Rich home!

In the midst of the chaos of raising 5 kids, moments like these when they exclaim "this is the best night ever!" make it all worthwhile...

Grace chose our tree this year.

They were so excited about decorating it!

Daniel and I did not have to hang a single ornament this year!

Mercy concentrating.

Taking a break from decorating to enjoy peanut butter cookies
and cold egg nog!

Thanksgiving Weekend 2012

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Hope that you all did too. We decided before Susanna was born that we would stay home this year and not go to GA since she would only be 2 weeks old and I would still be recovering. We invited both families here to celebrate and a co-worker of Daniels who brought his elderly father along. I forgot to take pictures of everyone who came but both sets of parents, Carly, Carter and Kendon were all able to come.  Josh, Paola and Julia were able to make the trip from GA as well. They were unsure whether they should come since Paola was on the tail end of a cold. Since she was 6 days into the cold and almost completely over it, I told them to come on. Unfortunately Josh woke up with a bad cold the morning after they arrived and everyone went behind him with a can of lysol or clorox wipes all weekend and confined him to one bathroom. Everyone was concerned about Susanna and forbid him to even sneeze in the house. It was hilarious watching him run outside to sneeze. Poor Josh! Everyone helped clean the house with bleach before they left and spray down the furniture and rooms with lysol. Praise God we were able to spend Thanksgiving with them AND Daniel was still able to return to work today with me and all 5 children well and happy! God is good!
I didn't do hardly any cooking this year. Poor Grandma was up until 1:30am doing her portion of the cooking and mine. What would we do without family? What a blessing that Daniel and I have 2 wonderful families! Its something that I don't take for granted.

We celebrated Mercy's birthday again with her grandparents and some of
her Aunts and Uncles.

Mercy trying on her pink coat from Nana!
Excited to get some handmade outfits from Grandma for her new
bitty twins!
Little Julia Hope! 11 months old.

My girls with cousin Julia
We all went to a park on Friday since everyone was feeling cooped up and we don't have much of a yard. We had alot of fun! The guys all played football and the girls/ladies talked and played on the playground.

Beautiful Grace, going on 6 years old!

Isaac swinging oh so high!

Daniel being silly

Isaac airborne!
Since we won't get to see everyone again for Christmas, we went ahead
and exchanged Christmas gifts.
The kids were SO excited to open their gifts!

Grandma and Grandpa were sad that they won't
see Susanna again until January and she will be
much bigger:-(. So hard to live so far from
family!
