Q & A Post

I have been getting lots of questions lately so I thought I would try to answer some of them!

1. How am I feeling? ~ I am still feeling horrible. I rarely get out of bed during the day but am up most evenings. There have been a few days that I have been up to outings but only because I will go stir crazy if I stay in the house too long. No matter where I am or what I am doing, I am constantly nauseated and feel totally wiped out. I am still struggling with vomiting, mainly during the nights.

2. Do twins run in your family? ~ Neither Daniel or myself have a mother or grandmother than has given birth to twins. However both my Mom and Dad each have a first cousin with twins that I really never knew. It was a huge surprise to find out we had conceived twins.

3. What doctor are you seeing? ~ I am seeing Dr. Roberts and his team at Carilion NRV Hospital and have been very pleased with them.

4. How much longer will Rachel be there? ~ She will be here for another 2 weeks. I am praying to be well and able to function and care for our kids by then!

5. How far along are you? I will be exactly 11 weeks this Sunday. My first trimesters always seem SO LONG due to the sickness and the fact that I can't hide a pregnancy from anyone beyond week 6 because of how sick I get.

6. What are you able to eat? ~ Only very bland comfort foods, macaroni and cheese (homemade), plain chicken, mashed potatoes, occasionally a grass fed grilled burger, dry biscuits or muffins with no butter. I cannot handle salads and most other foods or drink a glass of plain water due to the severe nausea.

7. Does severe pregnancy sickness run in your family? No, my mother and sister both had picture perfect pregnancies.

8. Have you gotten severely ill with all your pregnancies? Yes, other than the two I miscarried.

9. Why have you continued to have children knowing you will get so sick? Daniel and I decided before we were married that we wanted a big family. We believe that each child is a gift from God and worth all the torture my body has had to go through!

10. What have you tried thus far to alleviate your nausea? Just about everything! Zofran, Phenergan, sea bands, herbal remedies, ginger, saltines, protein, lemons, sour candy and everything else anyone has ever suggested to me that might help. The drugs Zofran and Phenergan seem to help the most but none of these things have taken away the nausea and enabled me to function.

Congratulations on your twins, I am sorry you are so sick....I just love faith women like you that continue to accept God's blessing even when they get really sick.
