Update on the twins

Daniel and I just got back from my ultrasound. They were only able to find one baby. Twin B vanished in what is commonly known as "Vanishing Twin Syndrome." I was somewhat prepared for this news because of everything I had read. I knew that with twin A measuring 10 wks and twin B only measuring 6 wks at my last appointment that I would had to have conceived them on separate dates for twin B to be healthy and that is so rare since the cervix closes very soon after conception. Most twins are conceived at the same time just as ours were. We were disappointed to lose a 3rd baby (I miscarried two previously) but we know that we will see those 3 in heaven one day. It was exciting to see our one big healthy baby in there doing great, which happens to be a BOY. I can't really imagine myself as a mother of 3 sons but I am thrilled and so is Daniel. He really wanted another son and I secretly hoped it would be one for his sake:-). Wow! 3 Rich brothers... we are so blessed! His name is Elisha which means "God is my Salvation".

Sad for the loss of the twin. He/She is waiting to meet you in heaven! Really cool about the other boy though! Hope you're feeling better, Lindsay. Still praying for you guys as you process through all of this.

I am very sad to read about your loss but very encouraged to read the light in which you put everything. I have been encouraged many times by reading your blog...encouraging words for my future ahead! Lord bless you, dear!

I am so sorry your other sweet baby has gone on to be with the Lord. I am also rejoicing in your sweet son that is on his way!

I had a vanishing twin with my first pregnancy as well. It's an odd polarity to manage with all of the different emotions.

Hoping you feel better soon. My heart goes out to you!!

Your family is beautiful, and YES, you will hold those babies in heaven one day. You are in my prayers, and I am happy and sad with you. I love you bunches.

I am relieved that you and Elisha are doing well, sad for your loss.

According to Mildred's and my Great-Aunt Peggy's family history, your great-great-great-great grandfather Pullen had an adopted son named Elisha, found on the side of the road on the way to Cartersville.

NellJean, I didn't know that about the family history, so neat!
