I finally found a blogging app for my phone that I think will make it much easier for me to update the blog more often. If you need a good picture of what we have been up to this is it! This is James’ 6th and final season of rec league football. I can’t believe he will age out of it next year and begin playing for the school team. The end of an era for sure! I will never forget how adorable he looked in 2nd grade when he first brought home his first football equipment. His best friend Simeon from the swim team talked him into playing and he fell in love with the sport and continued to play long after Simeon moved away. He still misses Simeon alot but still visits him in Winchester every summer.
I can’t believe he is 13 now and in 7th grade at Auburn Middle school. More on that later... He is thriving and doing great there! He is gaining confidence and coming out of his very introverted personality! He is taking an advanced math class and engineering/stem class at AMS which he loves. He wants to play High School Football and then attend Virginia Tech and become an Engineer like Dad.
Grace being in 6th grade at AMS was able to cheer for her brother this year and loved every minute of it! Susanna was adopted by the squad and got to be their little Eagle mascot. She ate up every bit of the attention and milked it for all it was worth! I went back and forth sitting with Football moms and cheer moms. It was fun! I love that our kids are so close in age and can be part of the same sports programs at school.
There is only 1 game left. It has been such a great season for James even when they haven’t won as much as he would like. 3 wins and 4 losses so far... we’ll see what happens Monday night!
